Best Breakfast for Eczema Sufferers

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day – let’s make it count. Breakfast breaks the 8+ hour fast your body is on when you’re sleeping. It prepares the body for the rest of the day by ‘kickstarting’ your metabolism and makes it easier for you to digest and absorb the nutrients from your next meal. If you don’t eat breakfast, your body usually holds onto the next meal for a longer period of time, trying to ‘stretch’ the nutrients.
Raw fruit is one of the best ways to deliver the nutrients you need to your body every morning. Personally, I mix a smoothie that I can quickly drink down that’s full of nutrition. It’s easy enough to digest as a smoothie, but promotes the healthy digestion of your next meals which are usually more solid foods. This makes it easier for your body to distribute the nutrients that you feed it.

My Morning Smoothie

Smoothies are a great way to enjoy a nutritious breakfast. They’re quick and easy to make, and delicious too! Personally, my smoothies are always different depending on what I have available, but you can substitute many of these things with the next healthy alternative if you don’t have something available. I try to stick to organic ingredients as pesticides from conventional foods often have an impact on eczema.
Spring Water/Coconut Water which can also be substituted with coconut, almond or oat milk, although I try to stay away from soy milk and dairy. The best thing to do in the morning is to hydrate yourself after a good nights sleep. I drink at least 2 tall glasses of water every morning.
Fruit! Just about anything will do, I like to use bananas every morning to get a creamier consistency and a less empowering taste. I also throw in a handful or two of mixed berries, and an apple (leave the skin on). You can throw in mango, apricots, peaches, dates, melons, etc.
Milled Golden Flax Seeds and/or Chia Seeds Full of omega-3s which have very strong anti-inflammatory properties as well as many many other health benefits.
Virgin Coconut Oil I throw a tablespoon of this in.

Green Drink Mix This is full of vegetable proteins and all sorts of amazing nutritious stuff. This one I consider to be really important. It’s hard to decide on one as there is a lot of different choices, and it’s hard to find anywhere but in a health food store. This is what I use every day.
Wild Crafted Blue Green Algae Full of amino and fatty acids. Many skin problems are related to a deficiency in amino and fatty acids.
Kale This stuff absorbs toxins and helps you remove them from your body. It’s also packed with powerful anti-oxidants.
